What should I claim in order to have more money taken out?
I am married and I filed married last year when filling out my exemptions on the worksheet at work. I am a nurse and they only took $22 out of my state last year. So when doing my taxes this year, I had to pay $3,500. What should I be claiming to have more taken out? For example, do less exemptions usually cause more to be taken out or less?

- yes, you should be taking no more than one exemption. if i were you, i would be taking none.
- If you can learn how to manage your own finances, you can earn interest on your money instead of giving it to the government so they can. Why do you want to deposit your money in a non-interest bearing account? Keep as much of your money for as long as you can. Don't pay the government until you have to.
